Real Life Threads

The Inspiration:

Real Life Threads was born from a simple act of kindness.

A friend I met through a Volkswagen bus group told me her daughter had outgrown a shirt. She asked if my daughter, Cece, would like it. Of course I said yes.

Before she gave us the shirt, I asked if she could send me a picture of her daughter wearing it. She did, and it was a wonderful picture.

Later, I took a picture of Cece wearing that very same shirt and shared both photos on social media. As I looked at those two pictures, I had a thought:

Wouldn’t it be amazing if every piece of clothing could carry its own story?

What if, when Cece outgrows that shirt, she passes it on to another child? And what if that family adds their photo too? Year after year, family after family, one simple shirt could become a collection of memories instead of just another item in a donation box.

That’s when Real Life Threads was born.

Real Life Threads makes it easy to preserve the journey of your clothing. Take a photo, write a quick caption, and become part of the story. Every shirt, jacket, dress, or pair of jeans can carry the memories of the people who wore it before.

Simple. Fun. Meaningful.

Together, we can create a world where clothes don’t just get handed down—they carry stories.

Welcome to Real Life Threads.

Let’s tell the story, together.

Core vision: Simple

From the very beginning, I knew one thing: it had to be incredibly simple. I wanted the entire experience to feel almost effortless. Scan the QR code on the clothing, take a picture, write a quick caption, and you’re done.

The original goal was to make the entire process take the fewest clicks possible. Every decision was made with simplicity in mind, so you can spend less time using the app and more time creating memories.

I really dislike when I sign into something and there are 10 headlines with 10 walls of text and all of them are soooo important. I want you to be enjoying and creating memories right away. RLT will be as simple as:

1. Open phone

2. Scan QR code

3. Take Picture

4. Add Caption

That simple!

Real Life Threads isn’t just about handing clothes down. It’s about capturing the memories that happen while you own them. Whether a shirt stays in your family for years, becomes a treasured keepsake, or eventually finds a new home, its story continues to grow.
